After a miserable experience with two Fellowes Jupiter JL125 laminators, we bought a GBC H212 and are very happy with it! Between sale price and rebate, this unit ended up costing about one third the price of the Jupiter. As far as our usage, we run 50-100 covers at a time on an average of every 4-6 weeks or so. We use 110 card stock in 5 mil pouches and with the adjustable temperature, we find that the 8 - 8 1/2 temperature setting is just perfect for our jobs. We love the fact that this machine automatically shuts off after being idle for an hour. It also has a small tray on the exit chute that helps hold/guide the sheets as they exit the machine. Our only criticism is that the tray could be longer but considering that most machines don't have any tray at all, it's a minimal complaint. This machine does not require a carrier and also comes with the cleaning sheet. We are VERY happy with our GBC H212 so far!

I had a cheapo laminator I was using to make circuit boards, but the temperature control was wildly inaccurate and the motor barely had enough power to pull a board through the rollers.

This one is far better - the heat setting is super-stable, and nothing ever gets stuck in the rollers. Set it to the highest heat, run your board through it until the temperature of the transfer paper hits ~105C, and everything should be perfectly transferred without smearing.
